What To Expect PDF Print E-mail

When you worship with First Assembly you need to expect to find people that passionately love God with all of their heart.  This passion is articulated through expressive praise and worship.  We are a church that believes in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit so you may see us pray for the sick and hurting by means of laying our hands on them.  At other times you might hear a person speak in an untaught language that is inspired by the Holy Spirit, or you might see a worshipper address the congregation by bringing a message from God.

First Assembly is unique to our community.  What makes us unique?  First, it is economically and ethnically diverse.  Our church ministers to the rich, the poor, and everything in between.  First Assembly is primarily a younger congregation.  The majority of people that attend our church are under the age of 50.  We are a welcoming place for the presence of God.  We are a contemporary church.  This means two things: 1) we deal with real life issues facing today’s people, and 2) our music genre is contemporary.  Many of the songs we sing have been written by our own worship leader.

Our guests will also find Bible-based preaching.  We believe that everything we do should be firmly established in scripture.  Our preaching is relevant in many ways.  The first goal is to reveal the nature, character and activity of Jesus Christ.  Our second goal is to lay the foundation of sound doctrine which serves as the framework for successful living.  The third goal of our preaching is to position God-seekers for a God encounter. God is real! He desires to have a real relationship with you—A relationship that is deeper than mental assent.   Our fourth goal is to offer a common sense approach to practical living.  Our preaching will teach you how to thrive in life.  Our sixth goal is to edify, encourage, equip and inspire all people to live fully for the purposes and plans of God.
